For the price of a KVM I expected a lot more. I have multiple switches to run my multi-monitor setup (2 laptops, 2 desktops, three monitors). When I added the third screen, I decided to use the DisplayPort switch instead of HDMI - partly because my monitor supports DP better and all my systems have DP outputs, which I use DP-to-HDMI for. had to use converter. I chose this particular KVM because it supports DP 1.4 and can play 4k at 60Hz. Many other 4K KVMs only run at 30Hz. After hooking everything up I was very disappointed. I was expecting a much more modern KVM, but instead found that this KVM had many of the flaws found in older KVMs. Here is a list of the problems I've encountered: - I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. With my HDMI KVM this isn't a problem, but with this KVM I get hotkeys when I plug a wireless USB adapter into a USB port on a keyboard or mouse, but the scroll wheel doesn't work and mouse movement is erratic. Using the front USB fixes the mouse (movement and wheel) but then you lose the hotkey toggle. I then found that after switching I would lose my keyboard and mouse and would have to unplug/plug it back in when using the front USB port. Switching will disconnect other computers from the display. Unlike my HDMI switch, this one doesn't support the signal back to the computer. This makes switching take longer, and if you've got multiple monitors set up, it messes things up (at least on Windows) as the number of displays changes. Because of this behavior, I've resorted to an HDMI switch for the main display and only use it for one of my monitors that doesn't switch often. I can contact TrippLite to see if they plan to offer a firmware update that will update this KVM, but I'm not holding my breath.
