Beyond Terrible for Computers and Accessories

This thing has cost me weeks of my life. This causes CPU usage to go crazy and shut down for no reason. I called Samsung support, the guy had no idea how to fix the problem. I ordered a replacement from Revain, spent another day with the replacement, exactly the same problem. My Ravpower SSD and T5 work great with no shutdown and normal CPU usage.

  • Feels Good

2017 iMac Blazing Upgrade

So it reads/writes at around 1000 Mb/s while the Apple iMac's 5400 RPM hard drive stays at 20-40 Mb/s. Download now, it has replaced the Apple OEM via Thunderbolt port in a flash. Use a rubber band to attach it to the bottom of the iMac's metal frame bracket to dissipate the transferred heat. Fast boot time, fast apps. So a brand new Mac for several years has never cost $ to beat the Samsung T5 with 540MB read/write speeds. 3 year guarantee.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing here

Do Not Buy Samsung SSD T7 With T5

Avoid Samsung SSD T7. My experience is similar to other people's experience with this product. SSDs in particular cause computers to overheat. The SSD also gets very hot! The problem is not related to I/O or compute load. The problem occurs when connecting the SSD to the computer. Interestingly, the Samsung T5 does not have these problems. I assume the T7 is just an overclocked T5. If my suspicions are correct, Samsung engages in some very dubious business practices. Please do yourself a favorโ€ฆ

Samsung T7 did not work as described

I work with audio and some of these virtual instruments required a lot of space and a high reading speed. I have 4 Samsung T5s to cover this. I'm new to the video industry and needed a dedicated drive for it. Looks like the T5s are no longer in production and these new T7s claim to be better. I decided to try one only to be extremely disappointed in its performance. All T5 have transfer rates of at least 400 MB/s. The T7 only ran at 30 to 40 MB/s and got very hot. I really hope Samsung fixesโ€ฆ

Fast hard drive with problems

This hard drive meets the advertised speed of around 900 MB/s on my iMacPro. but. The drive gets very hot, even when idle. I have it alongside my brother, a 2TB Samsung T5 SSD, and the drive never heats up even when hit hard (temps are now (87 degrees Fahrenheit) while the T7 idles over 100 degrees reached Fahrenheit. Sometimes the T7 temp jumps a lot and the drive shuts down. At that point I have to unplug it, let it cool down and then plug it back in. I've read all about the crazy thermalโ€ฆ
