I have an outdoor cat and my wife always complains that it's not good to keep her outside when it's cold. (Even if she prefers to be outside) I bought this house anyway to calm her down to be honest but the cat loves it! The heating can be set to 12 hours to allow the animal to get through the night. The pad is easy to clean, so if you get that nasty ball of fur or a dead bird, it's easy to clean up. How well it's put together, it's velcro, that's all. It probably won't be good in bad weather, but we put it on the porch and it has withstood strong winds and rain. Overall I'm very glad I did as I bought it for all the wrong reasons!
