Review on BLU X Link - Silver Smartwatch Compatible with Android and iOS by Jessica Breaux

Totally boring for a wearable

Boring to say the least. The watch does not look at all like the photos posted here. When I saw only 3 mid-range launch reviews on Revain.com, I thought people were probably expecting too much from a budget smartwatch. But I was wrong. The watch leaves a lot to be desired, even at $50. The dial is mostly plastic with a combination of probably cheap metal. But it feels very plastic. The band isn't bad, could be better, but really not that bad. The watch comes with a plastic film on the dial that cannot be removed. And that plastic wrap isn't attached properly either. The edges are all distorted and there are bubbles within the film. I tried my best but I couldn't get this bubble out. I know that trying more will likely damage this flimsy watch. The app that Blu has on the Apple Store is basically a third-party app with their name on it. (this is called white marking). The app probably couldn't be without frills even if they tried. It's just as easy as usual. Another thanks to the pedometer and heart rate info which doesn't give you much. Also, you CANNOT update your heart rate with the app, you have to tap the watch to get a new reading. And the reading isn't dynamic, as it doesn't track heart rate, or even at specific intervals. You have to manually click the heart rate icon every time you need a rate. I have a good understanding of electronic devices, but I couldn't figure out how to answer or reject calls with the watch. Or how to initiate a call. Doesn't show my contacts. There is no permission in my iPhone settings to enable this feature. I believe that the calling functions on this watch will only work if you have a SIM card inserted in the watch itself. The watch keeps disconnecting from the phone. Last night it got disconnected more than 17 times despite the phone being about 2ft from the watch. I went to bed with the watch on my arm to get some data on my sleep. It gives very little and incorrect sleep data and does not send this data to the phone app. I only see this information on my phone. I've woken up the last 4 times during the night and only slept 5 hours for some reason. However, the watch says I got 6.5 hours of "deep sleep" and 1.5 hours of normal sleep! Overall I am very dissatisfied with this watch and will probably never buy a Blu watch again. I was a big fan of Blu. Their phones are amazing for the price. They always come with phones that do a lot more than what they sell. That's why I liked Blue so much. But this watch is an absolute disaster. This watch is likely to be a bargain if it sells for $20 or less.
