We bought this bag and used it to carry large items on a family trip. The bag was very easy to assemble. I had to mount the bag directly on the roof and the roof rack bars were too far apart for the bag to work properly. Four straps facilitate attachment to the roof. We took the bag on a short trip, but that changed everything. This allows us to keep our inner world clean and clutter free. All of our panniers fit inside for a trip to the beach. The bag hasn't seen any rain during our use, but I can speak of sunny riding conditions. Also, I noticed very little resistance from the bag on the minivan. I mounted the bag right in front of the sliding doors. Turns out that's where the roof was strongest and I had a lot of weight on it.
