This item is worth its price. Much better than all other options. First, unlike other brands, it will shrink to just under half an inch. Second, it's so sharp compared to everything else (I have too many edgers). Third, you can move in both directions without changing tools. The only comparison might be Japanese made ceramic cutters (didn't see them at Revain) but they are only for melamine edges and do one side at a time (similar to wood tape). I've found that I have to be careful with my grip because it tends to cut into plywood surfaces if not held accurately. I propose a more precise and easier to compress mechanism. As some others have said, this thing can be tricky to assemble, but I won't assemble it because it works fine most of the time. Practice creates masters! Sometimes I'll take my Band-It to complete a section, but the other disguises aren't used anymore. A beveled variant would also be nice so that you don't have to sand down the edges later (they get very sharp). However, so superior to other options! Look no further.
