Expensive but worth it.

Easy to install after you decide where to place it. I didn't want the light to enter my field of view because it's bright, so I put it on a panel where I had to look down to see it. In fact, I can see the reflection of the light on the risers. So as long as I see green, I know everything is fine. But to see the LEDs I just have to look down a bit. You don't really have to see the sensor all the time. The device is small (approx. 2" x 3/4" x 3/16") and comes with a 12" red and black wire, positive and negative. .not flimsy or cheap. After splicing longer leads I routed the wires under the bike's fairings and switched the circuit with a 5A fuse into the fuse box. Do not connect directly to the battery terminals or you will see a charge all the time even with the key off, causing the battery to drain over time. Connect the positive to the switched wire so it activates when the key is turned. My fuse box will take care of that, but you can put it on any hot wire, such as B. the ignition or the brake light. Consult your manual to choose the best wire. The black wire goes to the negative terminal or some other grounded location. Now when I ride my heated gear I can see if my bike is providing enough power to charge the battery. The sensor also warns me if I have a malfunction in the charging system. Bait. I once had a voltage regulator failure on a cruiser I once owned and it left me stranded. If I had had a sensor, I would have noticed problems sooner and taken the quickest route home instead of happily rolling down the farm roads in north-central Maryland. Green light means everything is ok. Yellow and red mean problems. When you first turn on the bike, the light will most likely be amber. But as soon as you start the engine, it should turn green. If not, rev the motor a bit and see if it turns green. Some motorcycles run at low idle and there is not enough stator power to charge the battery. If it turns green, good for you. If not, you need to follow some troubleshooting steps. Turn on each added transmission individually and check the effect on the scale. I can use the heated grips and full power jacket when I'm on the move, but I have to turn off at traffic lights one at a time. Especially when I have high beams on. Visit the Kuryakyn website for more information on the lights and what they mean. Four stars instead of five because I wish the other lights were off when the green light is on and the price is a bit high.
