Review on CarlinKit 3.0 Wireless CarPlay Adapter for Factory Wired CarPlay Cars (Model Year: 2019 to 2020), Wireless CarPlay Dongle for Converting Wired to Wireless CarPlay by Deandre Vogt

Rating is based on a 2014 Mazda 3 with the manufacturer-enhanced Carplay main unit. Pairing was a bit finicky as I had to toggle Bluetooth on and off a few times on my phone. Don't forget to turn off Bluetooth in every vehicle. After pairing, the most important thing is to check for updates. Mine (Mazda) kept shutting down until I installed the latest March updates. It has worked well for me for the past few months. Disadvantages compared to wired Carplay - a slight delay in all audio (but not in the actual display), lower audio quality, takes about 30-60 seconds to load and connect. Pretty acceptable IMO. There's a USB port for pass-through charging, but the actual Carplay connection is still wireless when you use it. If you want wired carplay, you need to remove the dongle and plug it in directly.
