I have 2 tarantulas at home and wanted to use this as an aviary for one of them as it grows. I decided to use this for a roach colony. It has almost everything you need to get started with most reptiles and spiders. I actually used accessories in my other container. The ventilation is great! There are tiny square holes on the sides of the lid and a wire mesh at the very top. It's small enough that none of my roaches can escape. Not even childish. There is a feed flap on the top that closes with a magnet. I use this to throw food at them from time to time. I don't have to risk opening the cage when I can just feed her from the side. I sit in a darker part of my office on an adjustable PC stand placed over a heating pad. The plastic is thick enough not to break, yet thin enough to let heat penetrate to the bottom. My roaches thrive in this aviary while my old one had little colony growth.
