All in all, this is an exceptional short throw projector for those who have space and are thinking of getting rid of the TV. You can see the quality of the product right out of the box. It looks like high-end gear priced at over $2,000, but in the land of ultra-short throws, that really isn't the case. I've never had a VAVA to compare it to, but I know it's smaller and nicer looking. Everything seems to be of good quality. One small thing, I wish there was a source button on the remote so I don't have to access my Fire TV through the menu. I used it on a plain white wall and I have to say the image quality was excellent. You'll get a wave up if you have any flaws in your wall. However, those thin lasers aren't nearly as ugly and scary as people have led me to believe. My wall is very uneven and the picture was still excellent. The colors are strong and the brightness is very good. It's not nearly as bright as the Bomaker Polaris, but this thing is like the sun when it comes up - almost blinding. The sound through my soundbar was good too, and good enough without. Make no mistake this is a great projector and is usually available for at least $500 less than VAVA so I think it's a better buy. The upside, however, is customer service. GREAT! Unlike Bomaker who never replied to my messages, the guys and gals at Wemax just know. They are very responsive, very knowledgeable, and look for answers to questions they don't know like their lives depend on it. To be honest I've never been more impressed with customer service than here. What is a big problem when buying high-tech equipment. VAVA answered my questions too, but not in the same way these guys did. They were superheroes. It's also nice to know that if something goes wrong in the US (California I think) I can ship it to them and they'll fix it and send it back for free. No shipping to China for repair, no uncertainty, no cost. It's huge. In short, a few little things. The remote as said it would be nice to have a few additional customizable options in terms of picture settings. But for simple plug and play, this thing is a beast. You will not be disappointed!
