Don't worry if you plan on using them
They looked sturdy and we work with those foam brushes a lot - they don't work at all. Squeeze the ends of the foam brush until they release from the handle. Others we have used have the foam wrapped around a thin sheet of plastic to which it is glued. You're on a small hard pin set into a wooden handle - when you want to apply paint or whatever - just pressure makes it click. The sturdy pen looked like a good product - too bad it has a bad usage issue.
