They fit into your normal socket. They are well protected in the box to avoid damage.
All bulbs work. Online is the only place you will find clear 150+W incandescent bulbs. It says 1000 hours and that's all you get. If you leave the lightbulb on 24/7, you get 4 to 5 weeks. I've read comments complaining that they go away after about 4 weeks. Turn them on only when you need them. I buy them for my dad and he has a bad habit of leaving them on and never turning them off.
