I was a little surprised at how these wipes felt when I received them. They are not soft at all and not thick. They feel a bit like cloth napkins. I first tried them to soak up spills and they are not good at all. They get wet but still don't absorb most of the spilled liquid. I've tried dampening it again and using it to clean the surfaces and that didn't do too well either - they don't have enough texture to clean, nor do they seem to pick up dirt or grime well. However, they are very good for polishing and wiping things like glasses. I always have to clean my glasses and they do a very good job of cleaning dry things as long as they are dry. I have used them for dry buffing cutlery and some collectibles and they have done a very good job. However, they seem great for these jobs, but I keep one by my bed to clean my glasses while I read. All in all, this is a strange stuff. If you need more than a standard cloth for cleaning or polishing glasses, computer screens, etc. this may work, but not as a standard multi-purpose cloth.
