MikroTik, the maker of amazing enterprise-class routers, has finally created a SOHO consumer router at a price unmatched by anything else on the market today. MikroTik routers aren't the easiest to set up (advanced features) if you're unfamiliar with their language. But if you want 100% control over your network, this is for you. I use it for QoS (prioritizing devices over others) and many other advanced features. The WiFi output power is much higher than other consumer routers. Another plus is that it acts as a great router for hotel travel or personal Wi-Fi security when Ethernet is available. Because it requires MicroUSB for power, you can charge it anywhere from a USB battery pack, car charger, etc.
