Comfortable and inexpensive

I bought them to protect from the sun. Because of medications that make skin cancer problems worse, doctors have strictly ordered me to stay out of the sun. I love being outside and normal clothes can get too hot on a hot day. They work great to protect you from the sun and keep you cool. I learned long ago how well evaporation works to cool you down. I was on a motorcycle trip and it was 102 degrees in the shade. It was like riding in a convection oven. The faster you walked, the more beeps you got. My friend once wrapped ice cream in a bandana when we stopped. He said it helped. I didn't have a bandana, so I put on a long-sleeved t-shirt, which I soaked in water and then wrung out. uhh. I just found out how well this can work. We stopped once for gas before my shirt was completely dry and I was hot again. I knew we weren't going to stop any time soon, so I wet it again even though it was still wet. After about 10 minutes I was shaking and my teeth were chattering in the 102 degree heat. Evaporation can work that well. The slightest breeze is amplified by the quick drying of the material they are made of. If this happens, I think they would just need to be humidified to increase evaporative cooling even further. Since I don't like riding my motorcycle without protective gear, I ride in these shorts under a leather jacket. Of course I sweat in the heat, but since the jacket ventilates when I move, the shirt acts like an evaporative air conditioner. Nothing works when you're stuck in traffic with your motorcycle. Closing the vents is important when it gets cold because the airflow keeps you cool. No air flow, no cooling effect. I'm about 6'1" and 175 pounds. The chart shows I should go for 2XL, but I have XL and they seem to fit well. I can wear them comfortably all day. At UnderArmor, I had to get a number Go bigger and was still uncomfortable after about 4 hours. Also, the price is fantastic. That's what made me buy them in the first place.
