If you damage the original derailleur when you remove it, it doesn't have the same travel or tension as the part you intend to put in - don't get confused like me. There's a mechanical self-adjustment that happens when you slide this little fella into its mount and turn it a quarter to lock it in place. This quarter turn operates a small lever that ensures the switch works perfectly. DO NOT PEDAL DURING INSTALLATION - the shift piston must be in the brake pedal's original position for proper adjustment.
