
I bought a Cooper-Atkins Bi-Metals espresso milk thermometer for (you guessed it) frothing milk. My only concern is that the thermometer stem is too long for my steaming pot. The jug is about the same size as a milk jug, so I blame the thermometer's design for having to insert it at a slight angle in order to use it. It doesn't harm the process at all. With this I can still heat milk to the right temperature. I also noticed a slight time lag in temperature registration. What you actually need to do is heat the almond or coconut milk to around 130 degrees and when I look at the meter until it hits 130 and then stop, after a few moments the temperature is close to 140 degrees. I've worked on this by steaming 5-10 degrees less than the temp I'm trying to reach and it seems to work pretty well. Hope this helps someone!
