Review on Clara Clark Comforter - Gray King Size All Season Bedding Comforter/Duvet Insert - Ultra Soft & Box Stitched by Jeff Pettis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've bought 3 of these so far.

Let me start by saying that I have had 2 of these for over 6 months and today 11th February 2014 I have ordered the 3rd so I have an introduction to this product. Let me start my review by clearing up some of the ridiculous negatives and expectations of this and all products. People should sincerely stop complaining about a product's quality, materials, etc. unless the description is a blatant lie. They sell them for around $35 with free shipping. So for the cost of an iPad charger, we're getting a king-size blanket. So of course we have to write a review for the $30 duvet. I will try. In addition, all sellers will describe their items in the best possible light. So don't read reviews (on any product) from people who post bad reviews and pretend they read the description and got scammed. Especially when it comes to paying less than $25-$30 because you know it will cost more than $5 to ship a box of a king size comforter anywhere. That doesn't mean the product has to be worthless, but "you get what you pay for" always has some truth. Duvet cover * It's lightweight so don't expect a duvet to be heavy * It fits in a household washer and dryer (probably the best part) so it's easy to clean * Soft, like cotton, not microfiber. * Feels cool * Buy 2 for less than 1 with duvet cover and swap. Eliminates the hassle of washing, drying and re-bedding under a heavy comforter before bed (most of you know that feeling) * Blanket from your vacation in Europe or an expensive hotel in the States * $300 comforter for $30 I bought one of these, to replace my old duvet and with that I bought a couple of duvet covers from other sellers at Revain at the same time. I've used the original one that I bought with a cover for a while, but TBH, duvet covers themselves cause most of the issues (fit, feel, durability, etc.). much more than the duvet itself (I've been using duvets since traveling around Europe in 1999 (mostly encountering them in hotels across Austria and parts of Italy) where they get heavy use. However, after spending a week or two with After working on a few duvet covers I finally threw them aside and ordered another one of them to use.Best decision I've made.*My dogs ripped a few duvet covers apart so if durability is important to you, this works great too I have 2 boston terriers so it's impossible to keep everything I use on my bed spotless, other than that, buying 2 of these has actually worked best, this allows me to have a spotless bed right away when I use it I have one on my bed and one in the closet, if that on my bed gets dirty all I have to do is take a clean one out of the closet and the dirty one toss in the wash with tide and some bleach. This is the first duvet I have ever washed. ***Wash and Dry**** It will fit in the washing machine without being fully loaded (I have the old top load version) *Fill the machine beforehand with warm water, tide and bleach like you would put a blanket down . *After you put the blanket in the washing machine, I personally recommend holding the blanket for a few seconds to ensure the detergent and bleach are evenly displaced. * I tumble dry it with warm air. but I'm sure it would be fine with hot * It dries really quickly, less time than half a load of towels * Turning it over once during the process really helps. The evacuation of the wet interior to the outside, where the heat from the dryer comes from. Due to the inability to wash heavy standard duvets. The coating becomes very important when they are used. But since that's not the case here, they're designed purely for style. I should mention that this is *NOT* a thick white blanket. It doesn't have deep, square pockets of heavy down (squares yes, but not thick, heavy, or well defined). It also lacks a distinct edge due to heavy stitching or a starchy, thick outer film. If that's what you're looking for, don't buy it. It doesn't look or feel like it. Some people say they use it for this species. I personally don't understand why as it would be impossible. So for $70 I have a queen bed that is always covered with a crisp white comforter. It's nice and light for the summer and definitely heavy enough for the winter.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
