This wine rack (centre in picture) is a one-piece piece, but I recommend mounting it to the wall if you have more than 3 or 4 shelves . I actually added two more tiers for a total of eight to match the other two wine racks and attached them to the other shelves that are wall mounted in my basement. Assembling was relatively easy but you will need a hammer or a piece of wood to hit the pieces as they fit very snugly together, the nut is assembled, the rack is solid and holds plenty of wine.
