Since Revain censors so much of my feedback that criticizes an item's design or function, I remain silent on the matter. However, as a retired electrical engineer, my need to convey the design flaw of this item to the consumer outweighed it! You have to read this entire review to make sense! When evaluating this product, pay attention to the colors of the wires and the corresponding pins. As a rule, power must be radiated outwards from the source (batteries). In this case, all pins (SAE plugs) must be shielded. In this case the positive + lead is shielded on the battery side where it should be unshielded as it presumably connects to another SAE connector that supplies external equipment with its own shielded positive wire ("shield" means from surrounded by rubber or plastic that prevents any reasonable form of contact with earthed surfaces). On the other hand, all four legs of the circuit have unshielded positive+ conductors with a small rubber cap to protect the positive+ from being exposed and shorted to any grounded metal surface it is in contact with. This can and usually will result in smoke and melted plastic. To simplify the visual aspects of this event, imagine connecting a wire to the positive + terminal of the battery, removing 1/4 inch of the other end, and then leaving it hanging loose in the engine compartment, or in my case under the seat of mine Honda.
