Just Received

Just Received Today. The press was well packaged, with clear instructions and Fahrenheit degrees pre-set. The temperature setting was confusing until I read the instructions. The instructions said it was supposed to be a multi-function press, which came as a surprise. A really expected surprise as I was hoping from the photos that it would be multifunctional. The press came with a screwdriver and wrench and a list of available attachments. For a small press, this press is heavier than expected. Welds appear to be strong. All bolts and screws were tightened. The build quality seems to be good. Spin is a bit stiff, maybe that's a good thing as those little abs can tip over if you're not careful. The press I received is not the one in the picture, it appears to be an upgraded version with an updated controller. The teflon coating appears to be a teflon sheet attached to the top. I don't expect this to last long and will hopefully be easy to remove in the future. have none of the typical initial combustion and outgassing odors associated with transfer presses. This may be a sign of a factory quality control check and may be confirmed by an older quality control card. I set the temperature to 385, using an IR thermometer I got readings between 312 and 325. The surface probe will be delivered to me next week and I will check it. again. +- 6 degrees - a good consistency for a budget press. A deviation of 60 degrees is not good for any press, but the actual temperature read by the IR thermometer may not be correct due to the aluminum plate, the thin Teflon sheet and the fact that the IR thermometer may have been too close (ideally accurate) to the distance is 12 inches, not 2). The surface probe test will be more accurate. The bottom line is if it can sublimate the items I need then that's a lot, if it can't reach the sublimation temperature it has to go back. I hope this works for the sublimation because I love this little press. Will update this review after some testing. Upgrade to 5 stars. Trial sublimation came out perfect.
