Review on 🏭 Efficient Fix: 3M 06385 Nameplate Repair Tape Unleashed! by Richard Counts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked as advertised

Used this to reattach a nameplate that fell off our car after 10+ years. I have not used all other recommended 3M products. I carefully scraped all the old glue off the back of the nameplate. First I took a few measurements to make sure I was placing the panel in the same place. I cleaned the surface of the car first with water, then with (isopropyl) alcohol. Wipe most of the old glue off with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel with plenty of elbow grease, being careful not to dent the metal. The pressure and surface of the towel likely removed more glue than the alcohol. Apply short lengths of repair tape to the back of the nameplate as indicated. It can be easily cut with scissors. I peeled off all the little red plastic tape from the other side - it takes time - and stuck it onto the cleaned surface of the car. Hard pressed. Still holding up great.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
