Both my Explore Air 2 and my Maker have difficulties cutting anything but basic shapes out of these sheets. I've tried all sorts of settings, multiple passes, multiple blades, etc. Here's some tips:1. Simple cuts only- I couldn't cut a feather shape with the faux leather, nor close tiny circles. I tried upside down, lots of pressure, little pressure, knife blade, deep, fine point, face down, tape, 1 pass, 2 passes, 3 passes, htv applied first, etc.I was able to cut out a moon shape but still had to go in with scissors.- limited to simple cuts, using the setting "faux leather-paper thin," the fine point blade, with "more" pressure selected, and 1-2 passes did just fine.2. The faux leather is very thin. you cannot "sculpt" it (sculpted faux leather earrings) and it looks pathetic when used alone for earrings. However, something that did help: cut out your shape, then cut the same shape out of adhesive foam (mine was from dollar tree) and then adhere them together (AFTER CUTTING EACH SEPARATELY). Doing this gave it some thickness and made it more workable but wasn't worth doing every time.3. Definitely put the pretty side face down on mat (except for glitter sheets) and mirror your cut.4. Also, cut the sheet to the smallest size you can before putting it on the mat. The smaller the dimensions- the less material there is to move around.5. Make sure to use a scraper or a brayer over it to get as much contact with the mat as you can. Then also apply painters tape to all four sides.6. The cut out will have fuzz all around the edges. Use a lighter and move the flame in VERY quick swiping motions on the underside of the cutout.7. Don't buy it again.
