Review on πŸ”₯ 213-3521 ACDelco GM Original Equipment Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor by Michael Morgan

Easy installation once you know how to go about it.

This review is more in response to other reviews I've read about it. This repair makes money for GM dealers. It's very easy compared to how intimidating the job is. I read a review that said it would take a full day. Work 2 hours if you don't take a nap in between. Additionally, the intake gasket is made from reusable silicone and is attached to an all-plastic intake manifold. DO NOT BUY A SEAL. There's a reason a dumb pad costs close to $100, because it's high quality and reusable. Everything is probably fine with the suspension. I should also mention that I'm not a super cheap person who will spend a lot of time just to save a few bucks. Some of the reviews I read were just ridiculous. To complete this task, all you have to do is remove all the cables and hoses from the air intake and attach them to the wiper blade, then pull out the air intake from the bottom. The seal is attached to a plastic tube. Vacuum the crap that's lying in the valley, clean it, swap out the knock sensors and put the intake back in. The inlet screws attach surprisingly well to the assembly, making assembly easier. Also note that the propeller (the little M6 stuff) has plastic bushings where they go through the inlet. These are also sealing surfaces as they pass through the inlet in the base seal, but for some reason people don't seem to identify this with Reflex replacement reusable seals. Just because it's a gasket doesn't mean it needs to be replaced. Save money, buy both sensors (even if you only need one) and nothing else. Have a shop vacuum and a can of brake cleaner on hand to clean the sealing surfaces. Once you've completed this job, you can easily repeat it whenever you need to.
