I have been using Diablo reciprocating saw blades for trimming trees for a few years now. They're great for everything from small branches to maple logs 6" to 8" in diameter. When what I'm cutting is too big for my Fiskars pruning shears, I use a Makita cordless reciprocating saw with a delimbing knife. It's much safer and lighter than a chainsaw. These blades will flex if you accidentally hit something, but are easy to straighten and won't break. These are powerful blades! I have used these 12 inch blades for cutting roots but best choice for roots. Diablo's destructive blades are great blades too!
