The next best thing to a chainsaw.

The Diablo reciprocating saw blade was well worth its price and helped cut a small (8" diameter) tree stump. I prefer to use my saber saw when cutting the root of the stump to avoid damaging the chainsaw teeth and it's much more maneuverable. The Diablo saber saw blade could have been a bit thicker as it tended to flex too much, but I insisted on using it and sawed the stump a little larger than usual.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Minor issues

Amazing blades I've received in the past

Wow, that's an amazing blade. I've been clearing my property of palm and areca trees for the past three years and how this blade I recently bought has changed. It cut through the palms of your hands like butter and cutting logs into smaller pieces was a lot easier than with my other blades. I was able to go under my areca stump to trim the roots instead of having someone shred the stump which I used to have to do. . It's a shame I didn't get this blade sooner.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some little things

Cuts well and holds well

I normally use a saber saw to chop down fallen branches or entire trees and have used Skil Ugly 9 inch pruning shears in the past. They work well, but always lose sharpness. Pretty quick for me and I always ended up using them on something thicker than they were long so it didn't take long for the blade to go from a straight to a Z shape. With a 12 inch blade I can cut thicker materials with less chance of ruining the blade and these Diablo blades seem to clean the cut better which reduces the…

Great delimber

Works well. With a small saw, she simply cuts small branches. I even felled a 6 1/2 inch tree with no problem, although it wasn't as fast as a chainsaw. slightly more difficult to hit the target accurately. I think I'll be using the 9 inch blades in case they wear out, but as I'm running out of things to cut and the first blade still looks good, I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

  • Great for me

  • Almost never

The best saber saw blade of its kind

We have bought several different brands of this type of saber saw blade for trimming and pruning trees. Diablo is the best blade of its kind. It stays sharp longer and cuts better than any other. My wife is the benchmark for comparing delimber performance. She often cuts down small (and sometimes not-so-large) trees at the base, often dipping her blade into the rocky ground as she works. Only the Diablo secateurs survived. Other brands just wear out completely with this kind of ordeal.

  • a practical item

  • There are problems

Diablo Scoring Blades are great!

I have been using Diablo reciprocating saw blades for trimming trees for a few years now. They're great for everything from small branches to maple logs 6" to 8" in diameter. When what I'm cutting is too big for my Fiskars pruning shears, I use a Makita cordless reciprocating saw with a delimbing knife. It's much safer and lighter than a chainsaw. These blades will flex if you accidentally hit something, but are easy to straighten and won't break. These are powerful blades! I have used these 12

Good deal on good blades

Just used a blade to chop down about 8 lemon trees that died last winter although it worked well the seams dulled fairly quickly compared to general purpose Heavy duty construction blades sewn to stay sharp almost forever but still one blade cut all 8 trees and the cutting may have slowed towards the middle and towards the end it still worked well to finish clearing , just didn't feel like slicing butter and having a pack of 5 blades which is a great thing as I only have to make a few cuts each

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Good but not great

My son just got married and just bought a house. There were two pears growing in his garden that were sick and had to be removed. The barrels were 8 inch and 5 inch respectively. I live 900 miles from his house, so I didn't want to deal with the mess that comes with transporting my gas-powered chainsaw, especially in my wife's SUV. So I took these blades and a 20 volt reciprocating saw. I was able to remove both trees and chop them down with 1-1/2 battery charges. I used one blade for the…
