This is the BEST summer hat! The straps hold it in place in two places so my 1.5 year old can't tear it off. She swims with him, takes him on boats, plays with him on the dunes, plays with him in kindergarten, splashes with him in a chlorine pool. It's endless. It's very, very light and airy, but insanely strong. She wore it in the country when it was 95 and very, very wet. She didn't sweat at all underneath. In addition, the chlorine bath did not harm him at all. I wash and dry on gentle cycle on low and it comes out perfect every time.
