Review on GE 29487GE2 4 Line Corded Speakerphone by Tammy Smith

I bought this phone used and it was missing the power adapter. I was hoping I could get it somewhere along with an instruction manual. What a big disappointment - you expect for a product from such a big manufacturer that parts will be readily available, top notch support, a website with all sorts of information - well. Forget it! This phone uses a unique power supply - 6 VAC, you can't find it anywhere. The manufacturer's website is completely useless. Customer service 800 numbers are reserved, representatives are based in India or who knows where and offer very limited support. If anything, they will most likely send you to a Sears or RadioShack store. Yes, it's a discontinued model, but not that old, and that lack of support raises concerns about the current Thompson, GE, and RCA product line - will they be thrown away when they're no longer made? One thing I do know - I will not take any chances and stay away from this manufacturer's line of products.
