Here's the thing. I don't have WiFi where I wanted to have a camera. I needed a solar camera that I could leave in my marina parking lot and automatically record and save the motion events when not connected to wifi. This camera solves that problem. I can then return to the camera, get in the car, turn on the phone hotspot I originally set up the camera with, and use my iPad with the ubox app to view footage saved while I was away if both devices are present are on my WiFi hotspot. Success. (I tried setting up the camera on a standalone hotspot with no internet service but that didn't work, the camera had to connect to data to check the firmware.) HD picture quality isn't the best when streaming OR watching videos become an iPad's Wi-Fi network. I have not verified the picture quality of a saved video played directly from an SD card on another device. In the screenshot, I'm setting up the solar panel after installing the camera and disabling the hotspot. HD quality was on, it automatically recorded me and I was able to watch it right after. The app alerted me to new motion events when connected to a hotspot and just sitting next to the camera. Solar panel seems solid, light is bright, infrared is strong, comes with mounting template but no SD card. 8/10 I would buy again.
