We have a Cat6 ethernet trunk connecting the modem to the MDF. Our ISP offers a data transfer rate of 100 Mbps. We needed a way to add connectivity without running another Cat6 backbone to bring our HVAC systems online. I used one of these splitters at each end of the backbone, connecting port #1 to our router/modem, respectively, and connecting port #2 to the network switch and the network port on the HVAC system. The Cat6 trunk is about 300 feet away. I tested the speeds before and after connecting the splitters, there is no signal loss and no speed. Properly connected these splitters are excellent value for money.
