I do not recommend for safety
I bought 3 Kidde brand smoke alarms and 3 other brands smoke alarms to install in my home. After 2 months at 3am the kids alarm clock rang and wouldn't stop. I couldn't turn it off, it's still going in the trash. It startled us all at 3am. We've all looked for a possible source, but nothing. False detection. He was also in a good position. The other 2 are okay. But now I wouldn't trust them.
