Both alarms installed right out of the box. The second alarm clock started beeping immediately after installation. So much for a 10 year old battery, even 10 seconds wasn't enough. Kidde, I have your products all over my house. I am very disappointed in this. You should never sacrifice your safety for inferior products.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Installed April 2019, died June 2019, 2 MONTHS! Now that I'm out of the return window I need to speak to Amazon and now they want me to speak to the manufacturer. I just want a refund, I haven't spent $42 on smoke alarms in the last 2 months.

The item I received was old stock. The smoke alarms have a 10 year lifespan and the expiry date on the packaging I received is 2023. The expiration date is determined by the radioactive element in the smoke alarms, not the date of installation. Smoke alarms must be replaced after 10 years from the date of manufacture.

I bought 3 Kidde brand smoke alarms and 3 other brands smoke alarms to install in my home. After 2 months at 3am the kids alarm clock rang and wouldn't stop. I couldn't turn it off, it's still going in the trash. It startled us all at 3am. We've all looked for a possible source, but nothing. False detection. He was also in a good position. The other 2 are okay. But now I wouldn't trust them.

Purchased July 2019. Installed 11/15/19. One caught fire again 2 weeks later when there was no fire or smoke. I had to rip off the blanket and neutralize it. The second lasted only 3 months without packaging until February 2020! The same, repeated flashes with no smoke, no fire. Terrible product that will leave you completely paranoid. The packaging says it will last 10 years. Didn't even last 3 months. So disappointed. Kidde has always been a brand that I have trusted.

Bought these 2 packs to replace another kidde alarm which failed after 1-2 years. I bought a replacement in May this year and today (September) this stupid alarm started beeping loudly in the middle of the night. And there's no way to actually reset it. This product requires a recall due to a serious safety issue, which could result in death. When I took this product out of the box it didn't work. So I looked at the back and found the instructions. I followed them. Then I put the mount back on and everything worked. When I created the second block, I found that the instructions said to disable that block. So I killed the first one.
