The item I received was old stock. The smoke alarms have a 10 year lifespan and the expiry date on the packaging I received is 2023. The expiration date is determined by the radioactive element in the smoke alarms, not the date of installation. Smoke alarms must be replaced after 10 years from the date of manufacture.
