Expensive but it's working

I have some mixed feelings about this system. Mainly with the Salt Free Conditioner. When I was getting ready to install this system I had everything sitting in my garage after flushing and while planning what I was going to need. I noticed that the sunlight shining into the somewhat dark garage was shining through the lower Conditioner tank. It's basically empty. The top small tank contains carbon but nothing in the bigger bottom tank. Aquisana tech support says there are plastic beads down there but I could see the shadow of what little water was left in there after flushing and when I shook the tank it sloshed freely with nothing to dampen it's movement. That being said, the weight of this unit did match what tech support said it is supposed to weigh so I'm assuming that all is OK. Another thing to be aware of is the fact that the Aquisana label that is attached to these tanks states that the equipment is Made in the U.S.A. but right beside the big label is a small sticker that says Made in China. The Salt Free Conditioner is $700 for a somewhat empty fiberglass tank with some special jetting, a small carbon filled tank and some fittings. Now, all of that is the bad news. The good news is that the system is working well and doing what it's supposed to do. We have very foul smelling and tasting well water and this system has made it quite pleasant. I would say that over 99% of the taste and odder problem is gone. Our water is still fairly hard but this system does not soften water. I'm also not looking forward to the time when the tanks have to be replaced as they are quite expensive. When installing this system you might want to put in a few extra swivel connectors and isolation valves to make it easier to change filters and tanks. I also have doubts about the warranty when the system is installed by anyone other than a paid professional.
