I ordered 2 boxes because I was sure some of them wouldn't work, but so far they all work (haven't tried them all yet). The remote feels flimsy, but it's worked great so far. It aims and works for both candle boxes, it's actually fun to wave the remote at the candles (while holding the appropriate button) to turn them on and off. I attached them with clear string and tied each end of the string to where you unscrew them to insert the batteries. If you tie knots on either side of each candle, they will hang straight. The line will go up in an inverted V shape and voila, you have the same effect as the Great Hall from the Harry Potter movies. Daughter really liked the effect. We all made it, I might as well just leave her! They do not come with batteries and depending on how many sets you order you may need some. I thought it might be too heavy for the line using 2 AA batteries each, but it was perfectly fine. I didn't actually hang them from the ceiling, I have wooden joists so I bought wooden headed nails and actually hammered them into the sides of the joists and then hung a string from them. below, no one will notice. Also, we have nails for future decorations. It's hard to capture how good they look in a photo, but I tried.
