Review on πŸ”Š Compact Digital Car/ATV/Marine Certified Amplifier - Kenwood KAC-M3001, 600W Class D Monoblock by Scott Morris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Surprisingly small, sounds good, great price.

This little amp works well for my 10" flat PIONEER TSSWX2502 subwoofer. Unfortunately I have to use the factory speaker level input as the system is built into all parts of my Nissan Leaf. One would expect the input level from the speakers to be quite high, but in fact I have full gain on the amp and it's barely loud enough compared to my other speakers. I am very happy that I got such a small amplifier. If it were bigger, like even "small" non-digital amps, I wouldn't have a good place to mount it. The dimensions of this amp are really tiny. I installed mine just to the right of the head unit, above the glove box, behind the dash. It was the only good place out of sight. I'll try changing the input setting to use an external speaker->line-level adapter and/or connect it to the main unit differently. Bass response just isn't quite right, but it could be a factory head unit. The same cabinet sounds much better in my other car with a different Kenwood amp (it's small but too big for my Leaf). So I'm deducting a star. I'll update my review if I find a better setup for connecting the inputs to the amp.
