Review on High-Quality Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED πŸ“· Lens with Vibration Reduction and Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Agung ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I should have looked for better, I spent my money on a mediocre product.

I chose as a permanent to the D80, the choice was between 16-85 and 18-200. I wanted a travel zoom for vacation. in auto-mode in the summer in sunny weather worked without question, even unknowingly littered with materiel at dusk managed to pull out the frames through the channels in the shop. basically - the frames are sharp, aperture in daylight in open spaces is more than enough. I think this is important, and I repeat: in clear weather, in the sun and with little cloud cover, this bunch gives good shots, without noise at ISO 400, blockages of color in red and soap! in the shadow (forest) at f / 5,6 (85mm.) focus throwing begins (I think, after reading the manual for the camera, you can deal with this by playing ISO, exposure compensation and shutter speed), it’s more likely not the lens to blame .) in architecture, not always, but it breaks the geometry by 16mm. and somewhere up to 24 (from case to case). the same applies to facial distortions when shooting a group portrait (rarely). in an apartment without a flash, it works well by the window, in bright rooms. at 85mm focal length. I like "macro" very much, I put it in quotation marks, because in general, as a macro, it is rather weak, but it is also a zoom. although the pictures in this focus range generally suit me. focuses mostly quickly, and this is a big plus! tupit extremely rarely, besides, no one canceled the manual focus mode. the constructive inspires respect, it is made firmly, the mount is metal. if your "trunk" leaves, fix the lid, and solve 2 questions at once. conclusion: expensive. if you need exactly "nikon to nikon" and travel, he is a contender. but now, for example, there is Tokina, at an equal cost, its aperture ratio is 2.8. and sharpness - I will not say, you need to test with a specific camera. for shooting CHILDREN at home, immediately look at 35mm. and 50mm. f/1.4 or f/1.8. review has been corrected.

Pros
  • 1. One of the "travel zoom" options. 2. sharpness. 3. VR earns their money. 4. Constructive.
Cons
  • 1. aperture.
