Revainrating 3 out of 5

Hot and Cold, mixed opinion. Floods are HORRIBLE. SPOTS ARE GREAT! Buy the spots, not the floods.

I really like these lights in the spot version but I am really unimpressed with the flood version. I am also unimpressed with quality control. I purchased several of these to really light up my life. One of my 6.5" came in labeled as a flood but was in fact a spot. One of the lights had a cross threaded bolt hole. Some of the lights looked as if they had been opened and resealed. Some of the machine work on the aluminum housings were not that great. The floods are terrible. To make the floods they are the same light but they use a diffuser lens instead of a clear lens. This substantially reduces the amount of light coming out of the fixture and it's not a good flood. This is not the best way to make a flood light. The floods should instead use a different reflector to make the beam wider. Look at high end LED flash lights. They don't use a diffuser to make their lights a flood. They change the shape of the reflector to widen the beam. I am very particular about the color of LED lights. The color temperature on the spots is excellent. The diffuser again makes the floods look bad, even the color. I don't know anything about the company but it would seem to me from the quality, the product is Chinese made. I would really like to give them a 5 star rating. The only thing holding me back is the flood version and the quality control. I could give them 4 starts or even 5 stars if not for the poor quality of the flood. However let me say this, IF YOU WANT THE SPOT VERSION GET THESE! I don't know how they compare to a more expensive product because these are the price point I am comfortable with. I could live with the quality control issues for the price. If not for the flood being so bad I could give them a 4 or 5 start rating. One last thing about quality control. The wiring colors, at first I thought the floods were red and black and the spots were blue and brown. However after examining all of them this is not the case. The instructions refer to red and black wiring but some of the light had blue and brown wiring. More quality control issues? I don't know but just another things that makes me question the quality control.

Pros
  • The sleek and modern design of this flood light makes it an excellent choice for businesses that want to stand out
Cons
  • May not be as rugged as other off-road lighting options
