Review on Aquatic Life 200GPD Power Filter by Robin Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rolls Royce by RODI Units, but quite expensive!

I purchased this 200 gallon per day RODI unit about a week ago and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Before purchasing this device I was using a 4 stage RODI Coralife 50 GPD device. The Coralife device did the job, but it took 35-40 minutes per gallon of filtered water, and it took most of the day to get 10 gallons. Another thing that bothered me was that the water pumped out of the blue filter hose, once you started running water through it it took over 5 minutes. Aquatic Life 200 GPD produces 1 gallon of water in just 6 minutes 40 seconds! I can do a full 10 gallon water change in just over an hour. I plug this baby directly into the kitchen faucet with an adapter I bought at Home Depot for about $3. The part that the device comes with is the equivalent of the female end of a garden hose, so all you need is a male adapter that screws onto your faucet and onto the female end. Installing the filter is great as you just omit the filters (all 3 included) instead of screwing them underneath. gravity is on your side. The body is very beautiful. Very similar to a computer case and weighs about 25 pounds. This makes it easy to move from place to place when needed. The computer's LED screen is pleasant to the touch and easy to understand after a quick glance at the manual. The computer will beep if there is an internal leak or low or high water pressure. Expect to hear it quite a bit as it will trigger every time you turn off the faucet after use due to the drop in water pressure. The alarm clock lasts about 10-15 seconds and is quite annoying. Powerhouses like this have an automatic diaphragm flush that kicks in every time you run water through them for the first time. blue hose. The 200GPD model of this device uses two diaphragms (both included) which I think is the only difference between the 100GPD and 200GPD models. . In fact the 200 GPD model isn't even listed in the owner's manual so I just used common sense and followed the directions for the Power 100 GPD model which is pretty much the same except the 200 has an extra diaphragm added GPD. GPA model. Also, they include a separate sheet of paper with the unit, separate from the normal instruction manual, which is important as it asks you to find 3 sheets of attached hoses labeled A, B, C in 3 areas inside to connect that have stickers. marked A, B, C where to insert them. That seemed really stupid to me and to be honest I don't see any reason why you couldn't connect the pipes yourself at the factory. You'll also need to connect the yellow (feed), red (waste), and blue (filtered) hoses to the front of the unit, which is very easy, and plug in an AC adapter (included) to the front, which will start the pump when you ready to run water through them. Note. The manufacturer gives you a ridiculous amount of hoses, especially blue hoses. So if you don't want to run hoses through your neighbor's house, you can simply cut the hoses to your liking with regular scissors. Living space is not filled with vortex tubes everywhere. All in all the Aquatic Life 200 GPD is pretty cool and if you have money to spend I would highly recommend this RODI device! Additional Notes: After starting the unit, you will be given instructions on how to drain the first 30 gallons of filtered water to flush out any chemical usage and preserve the reverse osmosis membranes. After that I tested my water with a TDS meter and it showed 0.001ppm. I believe the manual recommends changing filter cartridges every 6 months or 3000 gallons of water and membranes every 2 years. However, these numbers may vary slightly.
