If your washer is leaking, check this part first (cracked housing). This is the easiest and cheapest part to replace. This replacement pump works perfectly and sprays with the same force as the original. The only difference from the original factory assembly is that the outlet liquid line fitting exits the pump at a different angle. For installation it doesn't matter as there is a lot of slack in the line and it's only 1/2 inch. Plug cable connected without problems. The one I bought was for a 2002 Sierra. It's also handy that it comes with a new bushing that goes between the pump and the fluid tank.
