Our dryer vent goes to the attic. I put off buying a booster fan for many years. We bought a new washer dryer kit and I finally had to install it. I looked at all the available booster fans and decided to toss a coin on this block. I give four stars for the easy installation. A few comments on this. The instructions are VERY good, but if you don't have DIY skills, this may present some difficulties. But if you can run a few ducts, plug in an outlet, and read a tape measure, it shouldn't be too difficult. One stupid thing I did is I installed it backwards first. Because he felt the pressure to turn it on, it didn't work. entirely my fault. I turned it and viola! The thing is very delicate. By pressure I mean. I connected everything and started testing. Everything worked great. My dryer was pulled out of the wall by about 2 feet. So I put it away and in doing so the flexible air duct from the dryer to the wall has changed a bit. Tried the dryer again and the fan wouldn't come on. No big deal, just had to recalibrate the fan. It's just disconnecting and reconnecting. One thing I've noticed with having my washer and dryer in my garage is that I have to recalibrate the fan to adjust for seasonal changes. Again, no big deal, just unplug and plug back in. The BEST thing about this fan is the time it took our wash cycles. We went from over an hour drying a large load to under 30 minutes. I've never had one that wouldn't turn on, it's got tremendous power and it's damn quiet. After reading a few other fan reviews just spend your extra money and buy this one. Buy once, cry once.
