The sensor is said to be in the range of 45% to 80%. Apparently this happens in 3 stages. "Low" which I think is 45%, "Medium" which is 46-50% and "High" which is 85%. What happened to the whole range between 50% and 85%? Your guess is as good as mine. During the Wisconsin summer, the default setting of Medium causes the sensor to trigger on a wet summer day and stay on until the timer expires, only to turn back on. On the "High" setting, I have to turn the shower on for 5 minutes before it works. Unfortunately, if you were a homeowner thinking about installing it in a renter's bathroom to prevent mold problems, the sensor can be disabled and there is no way to disable this override. Pressing the button to turn off the fan while it's running will also turn off the sensor, which won't turn back on until you press the button to turn it on manually. There's supposed to be a mode that sets a button to call the fan when needed, but that puts the sensor first.
