A 10 inch deep sink really makes a big difference. I notice that the water no longer splashes on the countertop, so the countertop is always dry after washing. In addition, I can now put several pots and pans in the sink at the same time and at the same time there is room for dirty dishes. The Kraus sink was packed very well by the manufacturer, there were no kinked corners. We chose this brand because we bought and returned a different brand sink 3 times due to bent corners, which took about 6 weeks of our time. One of the reasons we love this sink is the stainless steel strainer, but we were concerned that removing debris would affect the installation due to the depth. But we're really pleased that the screen works fully with the shaft, although it seems it sits too low. We have been using it for almost 1 month but have found this sink to be much quieter than our old 2 bowl sink which we replaced. The color and appearance of this sink is a matte matte metallic reminiscent of a diamond carved base plate. We're not sure if MicroShield will be worth the additional investment or expense, but only time will tell. It's the only sink with this Outlast MicroShield feature, so we decided to give it a try as we'll be using it every day for years to come.
