Why not just do this with phone mounts!?! I have vertical air vents in my car, and there's nothing stopping my wireless phone charging mount from swinging left to right or just falling all the way off when turning. This thing installed fairly easily and most of the problems came with where I wanted it to be. But once you find a spot, it stays there! It sticks out a bit, but as long as it stays in place I don't care, and even through intentionally tight, fast turns and bumps, this thing moved while using a wireless-charging, motorized phone mount with my huge, heavy Samsung S20FE held .
