Package arrived intact, no missing parts. I have successfully installed this light and am happy with it so far. My biggest disappointment with installation was that the instructions didn't mention having to loosen the screw to allow the spring-loaded lampshade holder to stretch. When I first tried to attach the lampshade to the ceiling after installing the canopy, I couldn't stretch the spring-loaded lampshade mount far enough. I kept pulling it, very afraid that I would damage the lamp or the lampshade. At some point I noticed a small screw above the pen holder. After loosening the screw I was able to get it working. The schematic may also require an explanation. It was clear to me that the black wires on the light fixture were meant to connect the black wire from the ceiling and the same was true for the white wires. But the diagram shows all kinds of colored wires with different markings or textures. It was confusing and made me wonder if some wires were missing.
