I was skeptical about this product but it worked with a drain in the main bathroom where the waste water drains into the bathtub. Previously I tried curving both the tub and sink (which share the same line) with a 50ft snake connected to an electric drill (this technique worked last time). After breaking 2 snakes I bought this product. I found a youtube video reminding me to use teflon tape for all connections. I cut a wine cork down to fit the swivel seat of a pop up waste, which is another place that will leak if you use it on a sink in a pull out sink. Then I turned it on and almost gave up until I heard a pleasant gurgle that announced the drain had opened. It may not work in every situation, but it's inexpensive enough that I think it's worth a try. I'll be plugging it in regularly to keep my drains working. UPDATE: I've used it a few more times and found smaller plugs at Revain that are perfect for the pop up diverter. Small conical plugs #7 - 100 ct. . .FYI: I couldn't use the crossbar extension; It's cheap plastic and doesn't seal very well.
