My ProMedia 4.1 system sounds like new. I thought decades of heavy use had taken their toll on the speakers themselves, but I was wrong. The culprit was the Klipsch "Control Box". After replacing the official Klipch control box with this one, the sub woofer got the punch I remember and the satellites sound like a dream. I bought ProMedia 4.1 (for myself) when I was 12 years old. Back then it was crazy to have THX certified speakers on a computer. You need a dedicated sound card to get more than 2 channels. These speakers supported me throughout my studies and afterwards. I have a sentimental attachment to these speakers and am very happy with this ECU replacement. I hope it brings me many years of enjoyment from some of the best "computer speakers" ever sold.
