I ordered this fan to replace my broken original Lasko desktop fan. This fan lasted 2 years and was all plastic. This fan is much heavier as it is made of metal. The base is very stable and heavy, so if you position your fan a lot like I do, it can get a bit annoying. But it was easy to put together, took about 10 minutes and I'm 56 years old and slightly disabled. It ejects quite a bit of air and isn't too loud, I've had worse. I bought a similar fan from Lowes in June, although it was marked with a different brand, it's the same model and the remotes work on both fans, you understand. I hope it lasts longer than my last fan, definitely better quality. I really recommend this fan
