I stumbled across these figures on YouTube channel Vat19 and decided to buy some for my 3 year old daughter. I bought both 2 packs; Tygor vs. Viper and Thrash vs. Rockjaw as well as the Blazagon single. Tygor vs. The Viper came first, so this review is based on them. In a nutshell; I wasn't impressed. First, Tygor was no different than many stress toys. It's filled with water and a few glittery stripes, which is just as much of a gimmick as other stress reliever toys. My main problem is with the Viper. It's just filled with sand and I think that's the main problem. Based on the video I've seen, the Viper is said to be able to stretch and return to its shape fairly quickly. However, when I stretch it, the sand inside breaks up into small clumps instead of having the consistency of liquid sand. I suspect this is because the manufacturer sucked all the air out of the Viper's case, which in turn prevents the sand from flowing freely. A possible solution would be to let some air into the body or fill it with water so the sand isn't completely dry. In addition, due to the fact that the sand crumbles into lumps, the body remains in a distorted state for a very long time. It seems like it took him all night to return to his neutral form. Needless to say, it didn't make the best first impression on me. Luckily the other 2 Thrash vs. Rockjaw and Blazagon were MUCH better! I understand that this line has only just been released and bugs are inevitable so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and buy more when others are released in the future. However, I'll stay away from the sand-filled ones as I don't want the same experience as the Viper.
