Review on ConnectPRO UR 12 KIT 2 Port Switch Cables by Ernest Duckett

ConnectPro is a 3-port USB video switcher hub/switcher. I use it to connect my mouse, keyboard, printer and monitor to my laptop or desktop at home. WIN XP is running on both computers. I have used many different KVMs at work. ConnectPro is the best I've used. Management is as easy as possible. Click Select and change computers. There are keyboard keys to remember (why does every KVM have a different key combination to change the selection?). User feedback is also excellent. "Non-OSD" means that the device does not display any message on your monitor ("On-Screen Display"). Instead, user feedback is represented by two indicators, which can be green, red, or red-green. Green = computer connected. Red = computer is not connected. Red/Green = Computer connected and selected. What could be easier than that? No sloppy video on screen ruining everything. And where is the video on the screen if the monitor just won't work with the laptop? Is this laptop video mode? I forgot the magic key to switch computers? .I had no problems with this device. Out of the box it worked great. The video is crystal clear (1280x1024). I was concerned because I was planning to change printers. I wasn't sure if computers would annoy me by plugging and unplugging the printer. It turned out that changing the printer is not a problem. Of course I don't toggle it while the spooler is sending data. Another problem is that the desktop is USB 1 and the laptop is USB 2. This wasn't a problem either. Computer beeps and beeps when I switch because the USB automatically detects when devices are plugged in and unplugged. I have a nice benefit from a 3 port USB hub. My laptop only has two USB ports. When using KVM I only need one of the keyboard, mouse and printer ports. The other is free for my flash drive. This is a very good feature for my needs. The only downside is the KVM manual which is for a 4 computer/8 computer switch. One would think that for this price they could write a manual for this product or at least add a section for a two computer model.
